BIGTECH Africa is a professional networking platform. Our business is about connecting people, which involves processing their data. We are committed to collecting only what is necessary, clearly explaining how it will be used, and never selling this data to third parties.

1. Data Controller

4. Scanning your badge

An important point that is often misunderstood

When you present your badge to an exhibitor or sponsor for scanning, you agree to have your professional contact information shared with them. That exhibitor then becomes the data controller for this information, and you may exercise your rights directly with them. If you do not wish to share your contact information, simply do not present your badge.

5. The Eventoo Platform

Eventoo is the networking platform developed by TPM Events. When you create a profile on the platform, certain information you provide is visible to other registered participants to facilitate scheduling meetings. This includes your name, job title, organization, country, and the interests you specify.

You retain control over these settings: you can edit them, restrict the visibility of your profile, or deactivate it at any time from your account.

6. Photos and Videos

The event will be documented through photographs and video footage for the purpose of covering the event and promoting future editions. By participating, you agree that your image may appear in this content, which will be posted on the event’s website, social media accounts, and TPM Events’ communication channels.

If you do not wish to have your information included, please let the front desk know as soon as you arrive or write to us: we will remove the content related to you to the extent that it is technically possible.

7. Who has access to your data

Our in-house teams, limited to individuals whose duties warrant it.
Our technical service providers : website hosting, the Eventoo platform, an email marketing tool, a badge system, and a payment processor. They act on our instructions and are bound by confidentiality agreements.
The exhibitors and sponsors, only in the case described in Article 4, or when you have explicitly agreed to be contacted.
The competent authorities, when required by law.

Your data is not sold, rented, or transferred to third parties for commercial purposes.

8. Transfers Outside Tunisia

Some of our service providers are based outside Tunisia, particularly in the European Union. In accordance with Articles 47 et seq. of Organic Law No. 2004-63, these transfers are subject to prior authorization from the INPDP, which TPM Events requests for each instance of data processing involved.

When the recipient is located in the European Union, the data is also protected under Regulation 2016/679.

9. How long do we keep them?

10. Safety

The site is accessible via an encrypted connection. Access to data is restricted to authorized individuals, password-protected, and logged. Our service providers are selected based on contractual security guarantees. In the event of a data breach that could put you at risk, we will notify you and the INPDP.

11. Your Rights

You have the right to access your data, have it corrected, object to its processing, and request its deletion. When processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw your consent at any time, without this affecting any processing that has already taken place.

To exercise these rights, please write to eya.chaar@tpm.tn by attaching a copy of a valid ID. We will respond within thirty days at the latest.

Appeal

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may file a complaint with the National Authority for the Protection of Personal Data, headquartered in Tunis. Website: www.inpdp.tn

If you reside in the European Union, you also have the rights granted by Regulation 2016/679, including the right to data portability and the right to restrict processing, and you may file a complaint with the supervisory authority in your country of residence.

12. Cookies

A cookie is a small file stored on your device when you visit the site. We use three categories of cookies.

13. Minors

This website and event are intended for a professional audience. We do not knowingly collect data from individuals under the age of sixteen. If you discover that such data has been collected, please notify us and we will delete it.

14. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated to reflect changes in the law or new services. The date of the last update is listed below. In the event of a substantial change, we will notify those affected by email.
